Kyle Wilbur Greear, Jr.

Kyle was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and decorated United States Marine. He had a strong personality and a fierce sense of loyalty. Kyle loved to cook, sing, read, listen to radio shows, audio books, fish, sunbathing and DRIVE. He was a professional driver and he took pride in driving. He was interested in a multitude of topics and loved to learn new things. Kyle had a tough exterior but inside he had an extremely big heart and loved his family dearly. Everywhere he went, he made friends and loved to make people laugh. Everyone knew him all around our local neighborhood in Sanford, Florida. Kyle re-dedicated his life to our Lord Jesus Christ on June 30, 2024, through a water baptism at Northland Church in Longwood, Florida.

Kyle was born in York County, PA on August 5, 1946 and passed unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. He is survived by his Wife, Patricia Ann (Blevins) Greear, his Daughters Tonya Lynn (Greear) Astaud and Debra Dawn (Greear) Goding and son-in-law Stephen Goding; his Stepchildren Timothy Weaver Decker and Cynthia Jean Decker; his Grandchildren Isabelle Claire Astaud, Nicholas Eric Astaud, Kyle James Dustin, Amber Goding, Shane Decker, Shannon (Decker) Wagner, Jessica (Decker) Olwine, Justine (Decker) Few and Matthew Ryan Decker; and his Sisters and Brothers: Barbara Ann (Greear) Everhart - twin sister, Nancy (Greear) Elder, Mary (Greear) Howard, Charlotte (Greear) Powell, Thomas Eli Greear, Gregory Gene Greear and Linda Greear. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandchildren and friends. He was preceded by his parents, Kyle Wilbur Greear, Sr. and Gladys (Lee) Greear, and his Sister Jeanette Mae (Greear) Weidner.

From the first time Kyle saw a Marine in dress blues at age 10, that's what he wanted to be. He achieved his GED in 1969, and worked in construction in the Baltimore area, convention setups in Washington, D.C. and as a coast to coast truck driver hauling everything from fruit, building materials to hazardous materials. Working as a truck driver, Kyle carried various certifications to handle hazardous materials and achieved Driver of the Year on many occasions.

Kyle was a United States Marine his whole life. He entered the United States Marine Corps just after he turned 17, in 1963. After boot camp at Cherry Point, NC, he was ordered to Vietnam in December of 1965, where he served FOUR tours of duty from 1965 through 1969. He entered MCAS Chu Lai RVN, was in the 4th Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division and his MOS was Auto Mechanic, but as he would tell it, he did everything, including being a gunner on a Huey Chopper in hot zones on several occasions. Kyle rose to the rank of SERGEANT in the United States Marine Corps. Kyle served as an MP on a Naval Medcruise for six months and was chosen by the Ship Captain to serve as his Assistant. Kyle returned to Quantico, Virginia briefly and was assigned to train new Officers in combat, which included teaching them how to successfully navigate a booby trapped jungle/forest. During his service, he received the Vietnam Service Medal w/6*; Combat Action Ribbon; Presidential Unit Citation; Navy Unit Citation; Good Conduct Medal w/1*; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm; Vietnam Service Medal w/2*; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Meritorious Mast; Certificate of Achievement and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. Throughout his service as a Marine, Kyle traveled throughout Asia to many countries; Thailand was his favorite. In 2022, he was finally awarded a 100 percent service-connected disability from the Veterans Administration.

Kyle's final resting place will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery and Cremation Gardens in York, PA. He will receive a full honor Military Service, date to be determined.
