Lawrence T. Smith, of Orlando, Florida, passed away following an extended illness on December 26, 2025, at the age of 77. A proud retired Lieutenant with the United Stated States Navy, Lawrence dedicated 27 years of honorable service to his country. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose quiet strength and steadfast love of country inspired generations. His values, integrity, and commitment live on in his children and grandchildren; many of whom have followed his path into military service.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Jean Smith; his sister Rita Martinetti; brother Timothy Smith; and nephew Michael Solonichne. He leaves behind his children – Anita Richardson (Dale) from Sylvester, Georgia; Stacey Smith (Bambi) from Milton, Florida; and Anthony Smith from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren – Gage Richardson, Austin Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Cynthia Smith, Stacey Curtis Smith Jr., Coral Brenner, and great-granddaughter, Omie Brenner. He will also be missed by his extended family, including his five sisters - Vaunda, Nancy, Kathy, Melinda, and Beatrice; one brother – Zachary; along with fifteen nieces and nephews and their families.
Lawrence’s legacy of honor, love, and devotion will endure far beyond his time on earth.
We are respectfully requesting of his family and friends that in lieu of flowers that you would consider donating to your local VFW in his name to help continue Lawrence’s commitment to other United States Military Veterans in need.
