Listen to Obituary

Leon F. Hall, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, Florida, on November 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on February 13, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Leon lived a life marked by hard work, dedication to family, and an unmistakable humor that endeared him to those around him. Leon married Carolyn Sue Smallwood on September 1, 1962- a union which produced 3 children, Anstin, Dawn and Terrence.

A graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, Leon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, which paved the way for a successful career. He ran his own business, HST Services, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he specialized in treating steel tubing for side impact door beams on General Motors automobiles. After selling HST, Leon went on to start Phoenix Ind. , manufacturing parts for office furniture. Leon's commitment to his work was evident, and he proudly served his industry until 2003 at which time he relocated to Central Florida. Upon relocating, Leon went back to work at Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP), in Orlando, as Administrative Manager.

.  He held this position for a few years until he decided to retire.

Leon was known for his funny personality and his ability to bring laughter into the lives of his loved ones. His playful banter with his wife, Carolyn, often led to her teasing him to stop joking. He possessed a warm smile and had an innate talent for conversation, making every gathering he attended brighter and more enjoyable. At family gatherings, he was the one running things- he liked being in charge.

Among his many interests, Leon found great joy in golf, a hobby that allowed him to spend time outdoors and connect with friends and family. He took immense pride in being a diligent worker and provider for his family, cherishing his role as a father above all. His children, Anstin Hall and his wife, Lilli Ann, daughter Dawn Moore and her husband, Scott, and son Terrence Hall were the pride and joy of his life.

Leon leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the form of his loving wife Carolyn, his children, five grandchildren, Marcus Hall (Jessica), Derrick Moore (Samantha Rivera), Sydney Moore, Brianna Hall, and Alyssa Hall, as well as three great-grandchildren, Paxton Hall, Landry Hall and Bryson Moore. His bond with family extended to his sister, Patricia Freow, ( Ridgecrest, CA) sister-in-law, Betty Smallwood ( Gilbert, AZ),  brother-in-law, Sidney Smallwood (Olivia) (Phoenix, AZ) and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence C. and Odessa D. (Tucker) Hall, and his siblings, brother Cornell Hall and sister Irene L. Dismuke.

Though quiet about his faith, Leon remained steadfast in his belief that God will make a way.  And God always did!  Leon was a member of The Life Center Church of Eatonville where he was a member of  the Outreach Ministry and the Marriage Enrichment Ministry until his health prevented his serving.

His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, forever remembered for his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.

A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date at Life Center Church, Eatonville, FL.  This page will be updated with the service information when ready to be announced.
