In Loving Memory of Juanita “Leonie” Young Hew

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Leonie, 95, who peacefully passed away on the morning of July 29, 2026, at her home, where she was deeply loved and cared for by her family.

Born on March 31, 1931, in Jamaica, Leonie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, florist, and woman of unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Astley Hew; her son, Phillip Astley Hew; her parents, Beryl Laraque Young and James Young; her sister, Gloria; and her brothers, Johnny and Sidney.

Leonie is survived by her sister, Theresa (Denton Hew); her children, Karen (Tony Wong-Ken), Michelle (John Parker), and Stephen Hew; her grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Leonie will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, steadfast faith, and the love she shared so generously. Her beautiful legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Leonie's life will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2026 at 11 AM at Encounter Christian Church, 1140 S. Lakemont Ave. Winter Park, Florida.
