Lewis A. Morales, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. Lewis was born June 29, 1946 to Rosa and Ramon Morales in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Their family later moved to the United States and settled in what Lewis referred to as the “Capital of the World – New York City”. He graduated from Morris High School. Lewis later met the love of his life Norma Morales. They married on July 2, 1966 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in New York and were married 57 years. They had three children, Raymond Morales, Milagros Morales, and Vanessa Morales McCann.
Lewis dedicated his life and talents to security, law enforcement and public service. He worked for 25 years with Holmes Protection Agency in New York. He later left his beloved New York and moved to Orlando, Fl in 1988. He then worked as an Orange County Corrections Officer for 20 years. During his time there he received many service awards. He also received further certification to become a Master Correctional Officer. He served during periods of natural disasters as well. Lewis was a true patriot and loved his country.
He was known for his boisterous voice, jokes, and laugh. His charisma and charm made him fun to be around. He loved to dance and listen to music of all types – but especially Doo-wop. He loved listening to this music and reminiscing about times past and his early days growing up in New York City. His other love was the great American pastime - baseball and the New York Yankees. He loved his family above everything and always worked hard to protect and provide for them. He taught his children the importance of education, hard work, dedication, and always showing respect and empathy to others. He supported his wife and daughter through their cancer battles. He was a Christian who trusted and accepted God's will. Lewis was a true family man.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children Raymond and Jacqueline Morales, Christopher and Vanessa McCann; his grandchildren Jordan Morales, Christina Morales and Bryan Hackebeil, Brandon and Eliana Febo, Jacob and Aria McCann; his great grandchildren Jaylene Arriaga and Nicholas, Sophia, Olivia, and Marc Hackebeil, and his brother Ralph Morales.
