Listen to Obituary

Linda L. Acevedo, born August 20, 1963, in Orlando, Florida, passed away in her hometown on April 8, 2026, at Advent Health Orlando due to various medical challenges all rooted from her Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).

Linda is survived by her husband, Frankie Acevedo; her sister, Cathy Friend; her brother, Donald Straub Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law Hunter and Sally Gallaway; and her daughter Kristina Perez and four grandkids – Austin, Landen, Payton, and David Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Duane Straub and Ann Lee Straub.

Linda graduated locally from Boone High School and was proud of her Orlandoan title. Linda began working at an early age at Dairy Queen and had a long career in the call center industry in both the financial sector and the tourism sector where she retired in 2023 from Wyndham Destinations (now Travel + Leisure). She had been an Orlando Magic fan since day one and enjoyed going to the games any time she could. She also grew to be an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins who her husband, father and brother are all fans of. She also loved the beach and was able to fulfill her dream of living directly on the beach when she and Frankie moved to Daytona Beach Shores in 2020.

Linda also was an avid traveler which she enjoyed deeply. She and Frankie took many cruises, visited many cities across the US and internationally, and they were also able to fulfill another dream of hers by visiting Greece and Portugal – two bucket list countries for Linda.

Linda had an army of friends and family that would often travel with her as they absolutely loved and adored her, and that was quite easy to do. It was easy because Linda was so loving and caring for others. She gave constant grace to others, didn’t judge anyone or their choices and simply accepted you for who you are, which made loving her so darn easy. She will forever be missed!!
