Linda Denise Thompson

Linda Thompson, 66, of Orlando, Florida, peacefully passed away on September 10th.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda grew up in Orlando, where she attended Stonewall Jackson Junior High and graduated from Colonial High School.

Linda began her career at Travelers Insurance Company, where she became known for her exceptional typing skills, typing more than 120 correct words per minute. She later worked for Orange County Family Services as a Computer Technician. Her final career position was as an Engineering Technician at Siemens Energy.

For the past 20 years, Linda shared her home with her mother, Peggy, who was not only her Mom but also her best friend. The two shared a special and inseparable bond. Together, they enjoyed countless road trips, watched countless movies, and created memories that will be treasured forever.

Growing up, Linda loved playing the piano, camping with her family, and being actively involved in her church. Her strong Christian faith remained an important part of her life, and she was a longtime member of University Baptist Church.

Linda also had a special love for cars. After starting her first job, she proudly purchased her first car—a beautiful 1978 blue Camaro Rally Sport. She absolutely loved that car and enjoyed driving all around Orlando, proudly showing it off.

Linda was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and dear friend to many. She was known for her kindness, caring heart, and gentle spirit. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Hayes Charles.

She is survived by her beloved mother, Peggy Charles of Orlando, Florida; her brother, Jeff Charles, and his wife, Lisa Charles, of Orlando, Florida; and her nephew, Joey Charles, and his wife, Amanda Charles, of Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Linda was truly one of the kindest souls. Her warmth, laughter, faith, and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
