Luz María Cancel Morán Passed away on June 24, 2025

Luz María, better known by her family and friends as “Lucy” was born on September 10, 1950. In the town of Manatí, Puerto Rico to her parents Luis Manuel Cancel and Margarita Morán. She was raised by her paternal grandparents Sixto Cancel and Encarnación Ríos.

Lucy was a teacher for 30 years, a profession that she enjoyed and did with passion.

Lucy is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Ramón Luis Correa Arroyo better known by his family and friends as “Mongui”.

Lucy is survived by her two children Luis Daniel Correa Cancel and Zuleika Correa Cancel, her grandchildren Keidan and Luz Aurora Correa, her brothers, Luis Angel Cancel Morán, Jorge Ortega Morán, Leonardo Meléndez Morán, Victor M. Meléndez Morán y Luis Manuel Cancel “Manolo”, sisters Zoraida Meléndez Morán and Iris Meléndez Morán and godson Jesús Antonio Ceballos Correa.

Luz María, mejor conocida por su familia y amigos como Lucy, nació el 10 de Septiembre de 1950 en el pueblo de Manatí, Puerto Rico. Fueron sus padres Luis Manuel Cancel y Margarita Morán y fué criada por sus abuelos paternos Sixto Cancel y Encarnación Ríos.

Lucy fué maestra por 30 años, profesión que amaba y ejercio con pasión.

Le precedió en la Muerte por su esposo Ramón Luis Correa Arroyo “Mongui”

Le sobreviven sus dos hijos, Luis Daniel Correa Cancel y Zuleika Correa Cancel, sus nietos Keidan y Luz Aurora Correa, sus hermanos, Luis Angel Cancel Morán, Jorge Ortega Morán, Leonardo Meléndez Morán, Victor M. Meléndez Morán, Luis Manuel Cancel “Manolo” y sus hermanas Zoraida Meléndez Morán e Iris Meléndez Morán y su Ahijado Jesús Antonio Ceballos Correa.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremation & Funeral Home, 895, S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822
