Professor Manuel Alberto Torres Vitte

1932–2026

Con profundo pesar comunicamos que, el día 28 de julio de 2026, en la ciudad de Orlando, Florida, rodeado del amor de su familia, falleció en paz quien en vida fue el Profesor Manuel Alberto Torres Vitte, a la edad de 93 años.

El Profesor Manuel Alberto Torres Vitte dedicó 42 años de su vida a la noble labor de la docencia, formando con pasión, disciplina y vocación a innumerables generaciones de profesionales en el área de la Electrónica. Fue alumno fundador de la carrera de Electrónica y posteriormente profesor de la carrera de Mecánica Industrial en el Instituto Técnico Superior Simón Bolívar de Guayaquil, institución donde dejó una huella imborrable.

Convencido de que la educación debía mantenerse a la vanguardia, realizó estudios de especialización en Argentina, Alemania y España, trayendo al Ecuador los conocimientos y avances tecnológicos más recientes para compartirlos con sus estudiantes. Su legado permanece vivo en cada uno de los profesionales que tuvieron el privilegio de aprender de él.

Compartió 48 años de matrimonio con su amada esposa, la Lcda. Susana Vergara de Torres, reconocida integrante de las asociaciones de periodistas de la ciudad. Juntos formaron una familia ejemplar, integrada por sus hijos Delia Tatiana, Manuel Humberto y Susan Marie; sus hijos políticos Charles Della Porta, Bryan Armocida y Silvianella Torre; y sus queridos nietos Alejandro Emanuel Torres, Mia Torres, Isabella Della Porta, Eric Della Porta, Justin Armocida y Paula Armocida, quienes fueron una fuente permanente de orgullo, alegría y amor.

Quienes tuvimos la dicha de conocerlo recordaremos siempre su integridad, humildad, vocación de servicio, sabiduría y el profundo compromiso con la educación y el bienestar de sus alumnos. Su ejemplo de vida continuará inspirando a su familia, amigos y a todos aquellos que fueron tocados por su enseñanza.

La familia Torres Vergara expresa su sincero agradecimiento por las muestras de cariño, solidaridad y las oraciones elevadas por el eterno descanso de su alma.

Que Dios lo reciba en su gloria y le conceda el descanso eterno. Paz en su tumba.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Professor Manuel Alberto Torres Vitte, who departed this life on July 28, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 93 years old.

Professor Manuel Alberto Torres Vitte devoted 42 years of his life to the noble profession of teaching, passionately educating and inspiring countless generations of students in the field of Electronics. He was a founding student of the Electronics program and later served as a professor in the Industrial Mechanics program at the Instituto Técnico Superior Simón Bolívar in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where he left a lasting legacy.

Committed to providing the highest quality technical education, he pursued advanced studies and professional training in Argentina, Germany, and Spain, bringing the latest technological innovations back to Ecuador to share with his students. His dedication to excellence and lifelong learning shaped the careers of countless technicians and professionals.

He shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lic. Susana Vergara de Torres, a respected member of the city's journalism associations. Together they built a loving family, survived by their children, Delia Tatiana, Manuel Humberto, and Susan Marie; their children-in-law, Charles Della Porta, Bryan Armocida, and Silvianella Torre; and their cherished grandchildren, Alejandro Emanuel Torres, Mia Torres, Isabella Della Porta, Eric Della Porta, Justin Armocida, and Paula Armocida, who brought him immense pride, joy, and love.

Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his integrity, humility, wisdom, unwavering commitment to education, and genuine care for every student whose life he touched. His legacy lives on through his family, his former students, and the countless lives he influenced throughout his remarkable career.

The Torres Vergara family expresses its heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, condolences, and prayers offered for the eternal repose of his soul.

May God welcome him into His eternal glory and grant him everlasting peace.  May he rest in peace.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 3, 2026 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church at 4:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the Funeral Mass at 4:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Angels Cemetery in Winter Park, Florida.
