Marie Gladys Jean-Louis, 68, entered into eternity on November 14, 2025. Born on June 28, 1957, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Marie lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those around her.
Throughout her life, Marie embodied resilience and generosity. She was sent to live in the United States at the young age of eleven where she encountered numerous challenges, but none that were ever able to break her God given spirit. Marie went on to become a successful nurse assistant who cared for the elderly for many years. After surviving a massive heart attack in 2006, she decided to professionally pursue her passion for hairstyling and obtained her cosmetology license while simultaneously wearing many hats, including being a dedicated wife and mother. In both careers, she touched countless lives—first through healing hands and later through creative expression—always offering comfort and confidence to those she served.
Despite her self-proclaimed tell it like it is attitude, those who were blessed to know her knew she was deeply caring, loved tremendously, and always wanted the best for those around her. She was strong in every aspect—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—a true fighter who stood firm in her beliefs and would go to great lengths for the people and causes close to her heart. Her giving spirit knew no bounds; she was always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation or wanting anything in return.
Family was at the center of Marie’s world. She is lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her husband of 39 years Ronald Jean-Louis; her children Louise Gaillard, Louis Vernard, and Gladia Dillard; and her beloved grandchildren Jermaine Gaillard, Matthew Gaillard, Ronald Jean-Louis III, Amiri Seon, Zori Ann Dillard, and Zyla Marie Dillard. She also leaves behind her sons-in-law Anthony Gaillard and Jordan Dillard; and her honorary daughter-in-law Courtney Johnson. Marie’s adored son Ronald Jean-Louis II preceded her in the transition to heaven.
In quieter moments, Marie found joy in crocheting—a hobby that reflected both her creativity and patience. Each stitch was an extension of the warmth she shared so freely with others and to have an item of hers is to have a tangible peace of her.
There will never be enough words on a page to fully embody the essence of who Marie Gladys Jean-Louis was. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selfless devotion. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and may God welcome her home with arms wide open.
