Marjorie Yvonne Emanuel

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marjorie Yvonne Emanuel, age 91, of Lockhart, Florida, on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beryl Rousseau Brown and Kenneth Alvin Packer, her stepfather, Harold Mortimer Brown, her husband, Charles G. Emanuel, her twin sister Sheila, her grandson Cyle, and her son-in-law Mitchel Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Moore, her son, Charles A. Emanuel, and her daughter-in-law Stephanie. Her loving grandchildren Ashley, Gabrielle, Tabitha, Caden, Erin, Taylor, and great-grandchildren Madison, Elissa, Alexandria, Zachariah, and Baby Caspary, who is on the way.

Marjorie was born on October 4, 1934, in St. Andrew, Jamaica, at 1:40 p.m., followed by her twin sister, Sheila, at 2:05 p.m. Marjorie attended Cluny Sisters until the age of nine, after which she enrolled in Immaculate Conception High School (ICHS) in St. Andrew. She remained at ICHS until 1957. Marjorie, the more athletic of the twin sisters, enjoyed participating in various sports, including netball, softball, running, and swimming. Swimming was her true passion from an early age; she was a member of the swim team at ICHS and continued swimming with the Sea Otters Club after graduating.

Marjorie met her husband, Charles, at the age of seven, sharing a childhood filled with friendship. They eventually became engaged and married on February 15, 1958, at St. Michael’s Church in Kingston. Together, they resided in St. Andrew, where they had two children, before relocating to Central Florida on Thanksgiving Day of 1977. Tragically, Marjorie lost her husband on April 6, 1979, but continued to meet life’s challenges with strength and resilience.

Marjorie dedicated her working adult life to accounting. She enjoyed traveling and was known for her caring nature and generous spirit. Marjorie defeated cancer four times with courage and perseverance. Her retirement years were happily spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories she treasured. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all that knew her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life on March 9, 2026, 11:00am, at Holy Family Episcopal Church: 1010 North Hiawassee Road, Orlando, Florida 32818
