MARY LOUISE GARUS

Mary L. Garus, age 85, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully August 30, 2025.

Born August 18, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Stephen and Ann Kellner (Ignatz), there she married the late Karl Heinz Garus on June 2, 1962 and raised her family before moving to Orlando in 2002.

Mary’s greatest joys were caring for and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, as well as nurturing friendships in her Southpointe community of Ventura Country Club.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Heinz Garus in 1986: sisters, Ruth Lanham and Gail Murphy; brothers, Steve and Wally Kellner; brothers-in-law, Jim Johnson and Tom Lanham.

She is survived by her son, Karl (Marty) Garus of Portage, Indiana; daughter, Krista Hesse of Orlando, Florida; son, Daniel Garus of Owens, Maryland; granddaughter, Kaleigh Morton of Silver Springs, Florida. Sister, Margaret Johnson of Chesterton, Indiana; Brother-in-law, Ernst Garus; Sisters in-law; Anne Kellner of North Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut, and Cheryl Kellner of Portage, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
