Melvin I. Starkey Jr.

Melvin I. Starkey Jr., 82, of Winter Springs, FL. passed away on Dec. 1, 2024 after a brief illness.

 Mel was born on 9/24/42 to Melvin I. Starkey Sr. and Mary C. Starkey in Baltimore, Md.

He served in the United States Army for a few years in the early 1960’s as an Artillery Specialist 4th Class. Mel served part of his time in Thule, Greenland. 

 He attended Towson State College in Towson, Md. He was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and went on to graduate Cum Laude with a Master's Degree.

 Mel met the love of his life, Pam, in high school in Baltimore, Md. They went on to marry in 1961 and had 4 amazing children- Todd, Scott, Joel and Erin. This beautiful family of his was his whole life!!! 

 In 2012 Mel retired and spent time going on cruises with his wife, making his children laugh, fishing with his grandchildren and enjoying life.

 Mel was predeceased by his parents, Melvin Sr. and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pam; his children, Todd and his wife Laurie, Scott and his wife Jen, Joel and his husband Pete and Erin and her husband Travis; his grandchildren Elise, Josh, Jake, Noah, Bella, Hope; his great grandchild, Elliott; and his sisters Rosemary and Loretta. 

 He will be deeply missed by everyone. His legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know him.
