Miriam Ruiz

Miriam Ruiz, age 85, of Sorrento, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at her home in Sorrento.

She was born on June 20, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter to her late parents, Ramon and Rosa (Melendez) Medina.

Miriam is survived by her daughters, Ivette Ruiz and her husband, Carlos Montes, of Orlando, and Maritza Concepcion and her husband, Albert, of Staten Island, NY; her son, Mario Ruiz and his wife, Maria, of Staten Island, NY; twelve grandchildren, Dalia Ivette Wright, Jessie Vega-Torres, Magdiel Vega, Javier Vega, Omar Quinones, Melinda Perdomo, Sheritza Montes, Dave Montes, Johnathan Ruiz, Hector Silva, Natalie Ruiz,  Christian Silva; twenty-three great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doralia Rosado, and Idany Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mario Ruiz; a daughter, Migdalia Ruiz; two brothers, Ferdinand "Freddy" Medina, and Radamas "Jonny" Medina; and two sisters, Nitza Cancel and Ivy Medina.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home with Deacon Manny Garcia officiating.

Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
