Nilda Margarita Roman, 69, of Wesley Chapel, FL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 28th 2025 surrounded by love.
She was born June 10, 1955 in the city of Vega Baja, PR to the late Juan-lino Roman and Margarita Vega. Nilda attended both Bushwick High School and Boricua College. She played many roles working in several community centers, and then became a data entry specialist. At last, she studied again and passed a few tests to work for the City of New York as an eligibility specialist for the Human Resources Administration info line where she later retired from.
Ms. Roman was the definition of a God fearing woman. Of all the various locations she resided, she allowed the Lord to guide her to a church where she could worship, pray, rejoice, sing and dance - some things we all know Nilda love to do!
Nilda was fun, courageous and brave, and loved to travel anywhere. She visited many states, however Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic were her two favorites where she loved to indulge at the beach. She would lay under the sun with the water and sand, catching her golden tan.
Because of her exquisite style and her eccentric personality, she left the biggest impact on so many hearts.
She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her aura always lit up any room she walked in with her contagious smile.
Nilda was the life of every party!! She enjoyed cooking, laughing and being around everyone she loved, with her glass of wine of course! She truly was "the glue", the one you love to love, to always hold everyone together.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Juan and Angel Roman, and a grandson, Xzavian "Nuni" Mercado.
She is survived by her four children, Steve (Paola) Rivera, Eduardo "Gordo" (Alyson) Mercado, Ernesto "Flaco" Mercado, and Clanil "Star" Solis; three brothers, Carlos (Melita) Roman, Felix (Andrea) Roman, and Luis Roman; and eleven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren (and one on the way) Christian, Melody (Josiah Brito and one on the way), Ciara and Matthew Rivera, Kiara (her daughter Yarelis), Dominic, Maximus, Jaiden Mercado, Ernesto (his son Ares), Yialixanelle (her two daughters Yiaxieliz, Zoelianis and one son Joshandiel), and Sejanil Mercado. In addition, she is also survived by a strong host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that became family.
