She was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Nilsa was a retired teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ismael Ojeda and her brother Hector Vadi.
Nilsa is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ojeda, son, Joel Ojeda; granddaughter, Laila Ojeda, grandson, Christian Ojeda and sisters, Sonia Flores, Olga Chabrier and Sylvia Vadi.
