Norlin L. Ham

Norlin Lester Ham was born in Benkelman, Nebraska, on May 8, 1931, to Vic and Mayme Ham.

 He was the youngest of seven children, graduating from Benkelman High School in 1949. Norlin served in the US Navy from 1952-1956. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Convair General Dynamics in several states supporting the Atlas Missile Program. While at Convair in Omaha, Nebraska, he met “the prettiest woman he had ever seen.” He and Myrna were married in 1960. Later Norlin worked for Martin Marietta in Denver, Colorado, and Boeing in Huntsville, Alabama, as a Finance Estimator for the Saturn V program. Upon moving to Winter Park, Florida, he again worked for Martin Marietta as a Finance Estimator on a variety of defense programs. One highlight was a business trip to Japan. Norlin was a Deacon and an Elder at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, and was actively involved with Walk to Emmaus. He retired in 1987 and thereafter had many part time jobs including handyman and Scenic Boat Tour Captain. He also volunteered his time and services wherever needed. He could fix anything!

Norlin passed away in Winter Park, Florida, on July 11, 2026, at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrna, their children Nathan Bond, Mary (Glenn) Widick and Christopher (Christy) Ham, and grandchildren Andrew Bond, Adam Bond, Gabriel Widick, Matthew Ham, Thomas Ham, and Elizabeth Ham. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Catherine Widick.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 17, at 10:30am, at Winter Park Presbyterian Church (400 S. Lakemont Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792). A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. 

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Norlin’s memory may make donations to Winter Park Presbyterian Church Faith Fund (400 S. Lakemont Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792) or Westminster Communities Foundation Benevolent Assistance Fund at Westminster Winter Park (1111 S. Lakemont Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792).
