Norman Svoboda

July 14, 1946 — May 10, 2025

Norman Alvin Svoboda, age 78, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.

Born on July 14, 1946, in New Prague, Minnesota, Norman was the beloved son of Alvin Joseph Svoboda and Julie Bessie Svoboda (née Horejsi). He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1968 and carried a lifelong pride in his Midwestern roots and academic achievements.

Norman's life was a testament to his deep love for family, faith, and the many passions that brought him joy. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Roman John Svoboda (Evelyn). He is survived by his devoted second wife, Ann Taylor-Svoboda; his two sons, Matthew Norman Svoboda (Noreena) and Andrew Joseph Svoboda; and his cherished grandchildren, Mikaylen Riley Svoboda and Carsten Matthew Svoboda. He also leaves behind the loving Taylor and Rodriguez families, who were dear to his heart.

A dedicated servant to his community, Norman served for many years as President of the Central Florida Stroke Club, offering support and encouragement to others with grace and compassion. He also found joy in his role as an usher at his local church, a reflection of his steadfast faith and generous spirit.

Norman and Ann shared a beautiful life together, finding great happiness in attending concerts and spending quiet, restorative time in the mountains of North Carolina. He was a passionate fan of the Florida State University Seminoles, a devoted antique and hobby collector, and an enthusiastic golfer.

Norman's warmth, humor, and unwavering zest for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.

A celebration of Norman’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Aloma Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to the Central Florida Stroke Club or a charity of your choice.
