Pamela A. Starkey, 82, of Winter Springs, FL passed away on Oct 10, 2026 after a long illness. Pam was born on 11/18/43 to William Dauber and Dorothy Dauber in Baltimore, MD.
She attended Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School (MERVO) and during this time, enjoyed dancing on a local “American Bandstand” inspired TV show, “The Buddy Deane Show”. On 12/13/93, she completed courses at Seminole Community College and became a nursing assistant. Continuing this career path, she graduated from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences on 7/30/95 and became a licensed practical nurse (LPN).
On a walk to school, Pam met the love of her life, Mel, in Baltimore, MD. They married on 8/19/61 and went on to have 4 exceptional children: Todd, Scott, Joel, and Erin. From the beginning, everything they did was motivated by the love of this beautiful family they created together. Pam had a passionate love for tennis and played on various teams for her entire adult life. She also had a love for gardening, which she would say was enjoyably creative and peaceful for her. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother, which was always most important in her life. When Mel retired in 2012, Pam devoted most of her time to her children and grandchildren and going on cruises with Mel.
Pam was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Mel, parents William and Dorothy, stepmother Addiebelle, and brother Billy.
She is survived by her children Todd and his wife Laurie, Scott and his wife Jennifer, Joel and his husband Pete, Erin and her husband Travis, grandchildren Elise, Joshua, Isabella, Hope, Jake, and Noah, great-grandchild Elliott, and siblings Jeff and Melanie.
Pam will be deeply missed by everyone. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
