Paul H. Horton

Paul H. Horton, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2026 in Winter Park, Florida.

Paul was born on February 25, 1936 in Rineyville, Kentucky to Neal and Roberta Horton. He graduated from Maysville High School in Kentucky and later served in the United States Navy Reserves. Paul earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Indiana Wesleyan University.

On June 14, 1957 Paul married Mary Goins in Frankfurt, Indiana. After a brief time teaching elementary school, Paul entered the life insurance and financial planning profession, where he spent much of his career helping individuals and families plan for their futures.

In 1972 Paul and Mary moved with their children, Kris and Ken, to Orlando, Florida where they established their home, business and were active in their church. Throughout his professional career, Paul worked as a financial planner with several companies, including Franklin Life Insurance Company. Paul and Mary worked side by side in their office for many years.

Paul’s greatest joy in life was his family. He treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Roberta Horton, and his son, Ken Horton.

He is survived by his devoted wife and caregiver, Mary Horton, his daughter Kris Vastbinder (Randy); his grandchildren, Peter (Unisis), Brent (Taylor Beth), Leanne Ramirez (Joel); nine great-grandchildren; and his brothers Joe (Sandy) Horton and John Horton.

Though he will be missed, his family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and the legacy he leaves behind.
