Paula went to be with the Lord on June 13,2025 surrounded by family, after a 3-year battle with stage 4 cancer. Her life may have ended but the memories of Paula will live forever in the hearts of those that were blessed to know her.
If there were words to describe Paula it would be resilient for all of the trials and tribulations, she had to endure in her lifetime, including a battle with cancer, she still had a smile on her face. Courageous is another word that describes her. She looked every challenge directly in the eye and fought with all of her might until she accomplished it. Giving up was never an option. Her perseverance was unmatched. She was also very nurturing. She was not only a mother of 3 daughters, but also to all their friends and everyone in the neighborhood. She loved all the babies, newborns to adults. She opened her home and her heart to anyone that needed it. Honestly there are probably hundreds. maybe even thousands that were touched by her love in so many different ways. She went out of her way to make sure that everyone was accepted and included. She would give her last dollar to make sure everyone was taken care of. Those who knew her would never go hungry; she made sure if you didn’t have enough to eat you left with food for later. There will never ever be another Ms. Paula.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Monfort, her children, Martha Cortes Mendez, Sara Fraley and Katherine Thomas Hampton, her grandchildren, Makyla, Thomas, Joseph, Justin and Robby, and also her brother David Hartsfield.
