Peter Bowlus

Our beloved Peter, Son of the late John Franklin Bowlus and the late Mary Eileen Carol Bowlus. He was born on June 23, 1961, in Rutland, Vermont, and passed peacefully on August 29, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Peter was a man who wasn't afraid to work many jobs until he was directed by God to the job of his dreams as a student advocate. There he was able to help the underserved and minister to those who needed his heart and encouragement. Peter mission in life was to speak to everyone he could about God, He did that to his last breath. He loved the Lord with his whole heart as he did his family.

He is survived by Wife; Cheryl H Bowlus, Son; Elijah Hamiliton, Daughter; Savanna Laurino, His Brothers and Sisters; Blanche Stokley (FL), Mark Bowlus (Lesley) (NC), Paul Bowlus (Sandi) (NC), Margaret Aldridge (Eddie) (FL), J Adrian Bowlus (SC), Mary Coyle (Brian) (NC), David Bowlus (FL), Justin Bowlus (MD). In-Laws: Walter Hendrix & Bernice Hendrix (FL), Brothers in-Love; Eddie Hendrix (FL), Walter Hendrix III (FL), Manwell Hendrix (FL), Brian Hendrix (FL), Roderick Sheppard (Kenya) (FL), God's Little Sisters; Dr. Anita Hunt (Gary) (MD), Frances Orencia (FL) and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

He loved to be around people, especially shaking hands with men at church. He had a heart of God, and he would show up to meet the need where it appeared. His heart to help change the lives of others by the glory of God was his mission. He wanted to reach as many people as possibles to bring them to God. By the end of any conversation, Peter always made sure to ask, “where do you stand with God?” We loved that his life was centered around inspirating men to be men.

A private viewing for the family will be held on September 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole, 335 E State Rd 434, Longwood, Florida. The Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00pm at the same location.
