Robert John Walker September 1, 1940 – August 21, 2026

Robert John “Bob” Walker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Casselberry, Florida on August 21, 2026, at the age of 85.

After graduating from high school, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 through 1963. Following a deployment to Japan, he was stationed in Central Florida, where he would make his home as a resident of Seminole County since 1961.

Here Robert met the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth. The two were married on March 30, 1968, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted more than 58 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, friendship, and hard work.

After leaving the Air Force, Robert worked for Noll's Furniture before founding Walker Lamp & Shade. For more than two decades, he and Mary operated the business, creating custom lamps and shades for the hospitality industry. His work reflected not only his craftsmanship but also his remarkable eye for detail and design.

Robert was a man of many talents and was especially passionate about working with wood. His skill and artistry as a woodworker brought beauty and meaning to countless creations. His work will be cherished by those fortunate enough to have received one of his handmade pieces, and his legacy will live on through the craftsmanship he shared with others.

Robert was a member of All Souls' Catholic Church, Casselberry Rotary, and the Wood Turners of Central Florida. He valued community, fellowship, and the opportunity to use his talents in ways that brought people together.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth; his sons, David A. Walker (Pam, deceased), Terry L. Walker (Stephanie, deceased), and Robert J. Walker, Jr. (Robbi); and his grandson, Nicholas Walker (Lindsey). He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Julia Walker of Muskegon.

Robert will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, his entrepreneurial spirit, and the patience and artistry he brought to his craft. Above all, he will be deeply missed by the family and friends whose lives he touched throughout his 85 years.

His hands may be at rest, but the beauty he created—and the love he gave—will remain.
