Robert “Bob” Edwin Jackson, 90, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 14, 1935, Bob lived a long and meaningful life rooted in service, achievement, and devotion to those he loved.

Bob entered the United States Army at nineteen, serving from December 31, 1954 until his honorable overseas returnee discharge in December 1957. Shortly after completing his service, on February 6, 1960 he married his wife, Charlene, who together celebrated nearly 66 years of marriage.

In his early career, Bob worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory, advancing from janitorial work to contributing to research in particle physics and medical science. He and Charlene also operated a hardware store in Bohemia, New York, before Bob transitioned into telecommunications. Over the years he worked for Ma Bell, New York Telephone, and AT&T, eventually relocating the family to Orlando, Florida, where he continued his career until retirement.

After retiring from AT&T, Bob founded Decision Support Systems, becoming a respected early voice in the field of Business Continuity Planning. He later completed his degree from Nova University and remained a lifelong learner, avid reader, and proud member of Mensa.

Service to others was important to Bob. He volunteered with the Lions Club and spent many years as a Scout Master, mentoring young people and remaining active in his community. He also enjoyed numerous personal interests, including sailing, painting, and music.

Bob is survived by his wife, Charlene; his daughter Tami (Charles Nesvik) of Orlando; his son Tracey (Sae) of Woodforest, Texas; and his grandchildren Justin, Aaron, and Regan. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Erikson (Tom).

He was preceded in death by his son Scott, his grandson Sean, his brothers Gary, Del, and Richard, and his sisters Carol and Marie.
