Robert J. Sorensen

Robert J. Sorensen (Bob) passed away at home on October 24, 2026.

Bob was born in Minneapolis, MN on April 15, 1945.

He met and married his wife Mary in 1972. During a long career working with computer and banking software, Bob and Mary relocated to Longwood, Florida in 1990. He loved his life in Central Florida. Bob’s interest in science, astronomy, and all things related to the space program expanded after his retirement.

Bob’s work with the Orlando Science Center as a long tenured volunteer was his most important association. He loved working with the staff, the other volunteers, and especially the kids. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, and a large and loving extended family in Virginia, Ohio, Connecticut and Minnesota. He will be missed by his family and friends and be remembered as a really nice guy.
