Robert Wakefield Thomas

Robert Wakefield Thomas, age 91, passed away at his home in Orlando on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Evelyn Rose Thomas.

He was born on December 26, 1933 in Jersey City, NJ, son to his late parents, Ralph and Theresa (Godleski) Thomas. On June 6, 1953, he married the former Evelyn Hayes, who preceded him in death on September 25, 2018 after 65 years of marriage.

Robert is survived by his nieces and nephews, Thomas Gatto, Robert Egan, Joseph Egan and his wife, Debbie, and Evelyn Egan; great nieces and nephews, George Bello, Michael Egan, Kelly Stanaway, and Samantha Egan; and great-grand nieces and nephews, Slade Bello, Sloan Bello, Hudson Stanaway, and Riley Stanaway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Rose; their son, Robert Wayne Thomas; a brother, Donald Thomas; and two sisters, Lorraine Gatto and Irene Martusz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 am with Fr. Bill Slight officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
