R. Alan Windham
September 22, 1936 – August 22, 2024
R. Alan Windham was born September 22, 1936, in Orlando, Florida to parents Grady and Martha Windham and was a lifelong resident of Orlando and Winter Park, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Windham. He met his future wife, Wilma Shaw, in college and they were subsequently married in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania following college. They had a son, Roger, and daughter, Lee. On August 25, 2024, they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Alan graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida in 1954 and Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania in 1959. He was a CPA whose firm, Windham and Shores, CPA, PA., was located in Winter Park. He served his country in the United States Army at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a Christian and Founding Member and Deacon of Saint Andrew’s Chapel in Sanford, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Windham, son Roger Windham (Rebecca), daughter Lee McBurney (Willson) and grandchildren Meagan Owens (Paul), Danielle Windham, Reese McBurney and Grady Windham.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday August 30 at Saint Andrew’s Chapel at 5525 Wayside Drive, Sanford, FL 32771
