Ronald Paul Tyo, a devoted family man, respected leader, and beloved friend, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Born on October 2, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio, Ron lived a life marked by unwavering faith, genuine kindness, and a fierce love for those close to him.

A proud alumnus of Florida State University, graduating in 1962, Ron’s commitment to excellence extended throughout his professional and personal life. He dedicated over 35 years to Southern Bell/Bellsouth, serving as a district manager before retiring, where his leadership was marked by integrity and long lasting friendships with his colleagues. His role in the community was equally significant, exemplified by his more than 40 years of service in the Rotary Club and his active participation in the Wekiva Presbyterian Church. At the church, Ron faithfully served as an Elder, Head Usher, and member of the nominating committee, demonstrating his dedication to both his faith and community.

Ron’s passions extended beyond his career and church service. He was an avid softball player and enjoyed occasional rounds of golf. His enthusiasm for Florida State University was evident through his long-time membership in the FSU Booster Club, reflecting his undying school spirit. He was the recipient of the prestigious Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America for his volunteering work for the organization.

Above all, Ron’s proudest achievement was his family. He loved his family fiercely and treated his friends as family, embodying an irreplaceable presence that will be deeply missed. In 2001, a cherished memory was the entire family’s trip to Montana, a testament to the importance he placed on gathering loved ones for holidays and special occasions.

Ron is survived by his wife, Caroline Tyo; his children, Randy (Sherry) Tyo and Melissa (Jay) Tyo-Grooten; his grandchildren, Amber (Gary) Ducote, Austin (Nicala) Tyo, Zach Grooten, William Tyo, Loren (Joseph) Previti, and Wendy (Ryan) Justice; his great-grandchildren, Maximus Ducote, Annabelle Ducote, Lilah Tyo, Olivia Tyo, James Tyo, Norah Justice, Georgia Justice, Daisy Previti, and great- granddaughter Previti on the way. His brother Larry Tyo, niece Melinda Kazmierski, and nephew Brian Tyo also survive him. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Tyo and Grace VanGelderen.

A memorial service to honor Ron’s remarkable life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Wekiva Presbyterian Church, 211 Wekiva Springs Lane, Longwood, FL 32779.

Ron Paul Tyo was a leader, a faithful servant, and a one-of-a-kind individual whose kindness and commitment left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be remembered as a good friend, a steadfast mentor, and a beloved family patriarch whose legacy endures in the hearts of many.
