In Loving Memory ofRosa Milagros Idalia Martínez SalgadoAugust 29, 1936 – November 30, 2025With profound love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Rosa Milagros Idalia Martínez Salgado—who returned peacefully to the Lord on November 30, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by family and friends gained throughout her 89 years of life.Born on August 29, 1936, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Rosa grew up shaped by faith, resilience, and deep family devotion. Her early years in boarding school taught her independence and strength, qualities she carried throughout her life. Raised in part by her beloved grandmother and formed through a lineage rich with Puerto Rican and Spanish heritage, Rosa grew into a woman who valued tradition, prayer, and the protective love of family.A devoted Catholic her entire life, Rosa lived her faith with humility and conviction. She was deeply devoted to the Virgin Mary and prayed the Rosary daily for the souls of others. She believed in intercession, compassion, and the quiet acts of love that bring God’s presence into everyday life. She served her parish community in Puerto Rico by caring for and assisting with parish needs, and by offering counsel and prayer to those who sought her wisdom. Her prayers lifted countless people; now her family asks for prayers for her soul as she enters eternal rest.Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Esteban Rivera Salcedo; her daughter, Sandra Esther Pagán; and her grandson, Esteban Raúl Navarro—all now reunited with her in heaven.She is survived by her three daughters, who carry her strength and love forward:Maira Deets and her husband, Robert of Cochranton, PA; Yolanda Pérez and her husband, Eduardo of Port St.Lucie, FL and Miriam Navarro and her husband, Irving of Orlando, FL.She is also survived by her brother, Jorge Martínez, and her sister, Carmencita Martínez.Rosa leaves behind her ten grandchildren—Ramon, Rosa, Faye, Cassandra, JoAnn, Richard, Pedro, Leonardo, Esteban✝, and Sylvia—as well as her 19 great-grandchildren, who were a great blessing to her, and her 12 great-great-grandchildren, whose lives will continue to carry her legacy into future generations.Those who knew Rosa speak of her kindness, her sharp mind, her love of reading, her constant prayers, and her ability to give heartfelt advice grounded in Scripture. She believed in doing good quietly, in lifting others, and in keeping her family—near or far—wrapped in prayer.Her passing was gentle and full of grace. In her final days, she remained the woman she always was: loving, prayerful, dignified, and beautiful—ready to meet the Lord she loved.Her children and grandchildren will announce forthcoming details for a simple blessing and burial ceremony at Drawdy-Rouse Cemetery in Orlando, Florida. Sus años en un internado le enseñaron independencia y fortaleza. Criada en parte por su querida abuela y moldeada por un linaje rico en herencia puertorriqueña y española, Rosa se convirtió en una mujer que valoró la tradición, la oración y el amor protector de la familia.Católica devota durante toda su vida, Rosa vivió su fe con humildad y convicción. Tenía una profunda devoción a la Virgen María y rezaba el Rosario diariamente por las almas de los demás. Creía en la intercesión, la compasión y los actos silenciosos de amor que traen la presencia de Dios a la vida cotidiana. Sirvió a su comunidad parroquial en Puerto Rico cuidando y asistiendo en las necesidades de la parroquia, y ofreciendo consejo y oración a quienes buscaban su sabiduría.
