Roy Lee Weiland Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 2, 2025, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Born on December 12, 1968, in Jacksonville, Florida, he dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his interests, leaving behind cherished memories that will be held dear by all who knew him.
Roy proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy, a period that reflected his commitment to duty and service. After his military career, he became a respected Corrections Officer for the State of Florida, where he took pride in ensuring safety and security within the correctional system.
He was a man of warmth and humor, known for his friendly demeanor and outgoing personality. Friends and family alike enjoyed his wit and the occasional sarcasm that brought laughter to their gatherings. Roy was a dedicated family man, and his proudest accomplishments were centered around the love he had for his children and grandchildren.
Among the treasured memories Roy created were special trips with his family. Notably, he traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with all his children and his mother, Linda Collier, creating lasting bonds and experiences. In 2019, he shared an unforgettable journey to Seattle and Alaska with his mother, showcasing the love and connection he maintained with her.
Educationally, Roy earned an Associate's Degree from Seminole State College, further exemplifying his dedication to growth and learning. He embraced hobbies such as woodworking, fishing, and cooking, relishing moments spent in the great outdoors.
Roy is survived by his mother, Linda Collier; father, Roy L. Weiland, Sr. (Evelyn); children, Ariel Arthur (Erin), Jakob Weiland, Richard Moore (Tori), and Courtney Weiland (Ricardo); grandchildren, Peyton Moore and Raven Alvares; siblings, Christopher Weiland, Amber Pindell, Destiny Collier, and Gerald (Cody) Collier Jackson; as well as 12 nieces and nephews. His legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the love he gave.
As we remember Roy, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by kindness, humor, and an unwavering dedication to family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
