Ruth Marie Bivin

Ruth Marie Bivin, 91, of Longwood, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.

Born in Concordia, Missouri, Ruth lived a life defined by love, dedication, and service to others. Whether through her work, her faith, or the care she gave to family and friends, she made everyone around her feel welcome and valued.

Over the years, Ruth worked as a switchboard operator before becoming everyone’s favorite receptionist at Hunt Club, where her warm smile, kind spirit, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She believed in staying busy and engaged, and she approached every stage of life with energy and purpose.

Ruth was an avid sewer and an exceptionally talented quilt maker whose handcrafted creations will be treasured for generations. Family and friends eagerly looked forward to her famous German chocolate cake, a treat made with love and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to enjoy it. She was also a devoted member of Sanlando United Methodist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life and where she found friendship, comfort, and community.

Ruth is survived by her son, Randall Bivin and his wife, Patricia; her granddaughters, Taylor Daugherty and Shelby Bivin; her grandchildren, Hillary Fischer and her husband, Ben, Jillian Mangold and her husband, Zac, and Keven Loiselle and his wife, Katherine; her seven cherished great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Michele Loiselle; her sister, Rose; her nephew, Denny; and her niece, Mary.

Ruth’s legacy lives on in the quilts she stitched, the cakes she baked, the kindness she shared, and the family she loved so deeply. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, her strong faith, and her ability to make people feel at home. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held at Sanlando United Methodist Church at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
