In Loving Memory of Salvador “Nuno” Acevedo Jr. Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend October 9, 1990 – July 19, 2025
Salvador Acevedo Jr., affectionately known as “Nuno,” passed away on July 19, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with mental illness. He was 34 years old.
Nuno was a force of nature, spunky, curious, and full of life. Whether it was showing up to a high school party in a Speedo to break the ice or launching into a story that made everyone forget their worries, Nuno had a gift for bringing people together and reminding them not to take life too seriously.
He was strange in the most wonderful way, talkative, wildly imaginative, and unapologetically himself. More than anything, he loved fiercely. His devotion to his family ran deep, and he never hesitated to show up for the people he cared about.
While Nuno’s life was marked by vibrant joy and unforgettable moments, he also carried invisible struggles that he fought bravely for many years. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of mental health awareness, compassion, and support. He will be remembered not for how he left this world, but for the boundless love, laughter, and light he brought into it.
Nuno is survived by his parents, Serena Suarez Acevedo and Salvador Acevedo; his twin sister, Sabrina Hand, her husband Nathan, and their daughter Ava Hand; his sister Karinna Acevedo Knoll, her husband Thomas, and their daughter Evelyn Rose Knoll. He is also survived by his siblings Noel Acevedo, Rossalva Acevedo, Judy Correa and her husband Carlos, and Wilson Acevedo and his wife Angelina, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who adored his wild, untamed spirit.
