Sharon Marie Procaccini

October 18, 1958 — March 28, 2025

Orlando

Sharon Marie Procaccini (née Sprague), 66, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away March 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on October 18, 1958, in Trenton, Sharon was the youngest daughter of Jack and Vi Sprague. She graduated from Steinert High School in 1976 and went on to work in retail and banking before beginning a long and fulfilling career with Hughes Enterprises in 1988, where she remained until her retirement in 2020.

In 1978, Sharon met the love of her life, John Procaccini. They were married in September 1980 and built a beautiful life together. In 2021, they moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement and be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.

Sharon’s joy and generosity touched everyone she met. Her love language was gift giving — she had a knack for finding just the right item that made you feel seen, remembered, and loved. Whether it was a birthday, holiday, or simply because she saw something that reminded her of you, Sharon made people feel special in ways big and small. She especially shined during Christmas, going all out to ensure that everyone experienced a bit of holiday magic — from her legendary cookies to carefully chosen gifts that reflected her deep love for those around her.

In her free time, Sharon enjoyed Hallmark movies, chocolate wine, and coloring on her phone. As a bonafide pumpkin addict, she stocked her cabinets and deep freezer with all of her favorite pumpkin spice treats during the fall to enjoy all year long. Sharon was a passionate cruiser known for encouraging everyone she met to “just give it a try!”

Sharon was the heart of her family. She is survived by her beloved husband John, her daughter Jennifer, and her cherished grandson Joshua, who was the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her dear son-in-law Nate, who passed in May 2024. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Lacey and Cindy Kolczynski; her cousin Mark Sprague; her best and longest friend Chris Snyder; and many extended family members and close friends, including her dear friend Marie Palumbo.

Sharon’s warmth, kindness, and love of hosting left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the love she gave so freely.

After bravely overcoming pancreatic cancer in 2020, Sharon was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in early 2024. She faced her illness with strength and grace, and passed away in March 2025 due to complications from the spread of the disease.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26th at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 465 Paxson Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08690. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. The family asks no flowers be sent.

In honor of Sharon, we encourage those who knew her to carry forward her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love — and maybe even try a cruise in her memory.
