Shirley T. Perry

Shirley Perry, at 89, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Winter Park, Florida. She left behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Born on November 27, 1935, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Shirley carried the vibrant spirit of her birthplace with her throughout her life.

At the tender age of 12, Shirley embarked on a journey to the United States with her mother. In Brooklyn, New York, she received her education and pursued a career in the nursing field, a profession that deeply resonated with her commitment to caring for others. Her dedication to her craft was evident in every aspect of her life, and she brought compassion and strength to those around her, remaining steadfast in her commitment to service over the years.

A devout Catholic, Shirley found profound comfort and joy in her faith. Her spiritual devotion shaped her values and guided her every step, instilling in her a sense of grace, humility, and love.

Proud of her Trinidadian heritage, Shirley celebrated it with enthusiasm. Carnival held a special place in her heart, and its vibrant music, colors, and energy reflected the joy she brought to every room she entered. She also had a passion for beloved dogs and embracing new experiences with curiosity and warmth.

Shirley was the last of her generation as the eldest of her siblings. Family and friends were the cornerstone of Shirley’s life. She is fondly remembered by her daughter, Ella; sons, Anthony, Lenny, and Dale; adopted son, Jason; grandsons, Tony and Nathan (Eboni); granddaughter, Lacey; great-grandson, Lamont, and other great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
