She started her career at AT&T in 1964. Eventually, Shiverla was promoted to sales manager. In 1978, she was relocated to St. Louis, and she then retired from AT&T 1996 after 32 years of service. She served as the membership chairperson of Operation PUSH (Founded by the Rev. Jesse Jackson), in Kansas City, MO in the late 1970’s. Shiverla was a huge supporter of President and Mrs. Barack Obama, and in her later years worked as a poll workup for elections in Osceola County, FL.

Additionally, she was an entrepreneur and owner of her own business, “Ethnics-N-Art & Childrens’ Books.” Shiverla enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, and art work. She was also a world traveler, and particularly enjoyed vacations to the Caribbean Islands.

Shiverla will be remembered for being a generous soul.  She never knew a stranger.  She was quick to offer a hot meal.  She will be missed dearly and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her forever.

Dance on, Mom! We will see you again in paradise!
