Siempre impecable, nunca faltaba a sus citas para arreglarse el cabello o las uñas, y su elegancia formaba parte de su sello personal. Con cariño, su familia la recuerda incluso como la clienta favorita de Estée Lauder, un detalle que habla de su gusto, su constancia y esa manera tan propia de presentarse ante el mundo con dignidad y distinción. Verdaderamente, fue una reina para quienes la amaron.

La visitación se llevará a cabo el 14 de septiembre de 2026, de 10:00 a 12:00, en Newcomer Funeral Home, Winter Park, ubicado en 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, Florida 32792. El servicio fúnebre tendrá lugar ese mismo día, de 12:00 a 13:00, también en Newcomer Funeral Home, Winter Park. Posteriormente, el servicio junto a la tumba se realizará de 14:00 a 15:00 en Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789. Sofia “Nelly” Onelia Fornes passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on March 20, 1932, she lived a long life rooted in faith, family, and love, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the many lives she touched.

Nelly was a devoted Christian whose life reflected deep commitment to those she loved most. She was funny, quick-witted, strong, and strong-willed, with a presence that made a lasting impression. Extremely family-oriented, she loved everyone and fed everyone, making her home and her table places of warmth, comfort, and belonging. Gathering and feeding the family brought her great joy, and so many cherished moments were created around her care and generosity. Every photo and gathering was centered around her, a reflection of the central place she held in the hearts of her family.

She also took great pride in her appearance and never missed a hair or nail appointment. Known as Estee Lauder’s favorite client, she carried herself with grace and confidence. To those who knew her, she was truly a queen—loving, vibrant, and unforgettable.

Among her proudest accomplishments were her 70-year marriage to her beloved husband, John Fornes, being a mother to her daughter Jacqueline, and meeting all of her grandchildren. She created a legacy of faith and family that will endure for generations.

Nelly is survived by her husband, John Fornes, and her daughter, Jacqueline Ramos, and son-in-law, George Ramos. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Iris Echavez, Frank Echavez, Ivette McNutt, Dennis McNutt, Serena Virzi, Louis Virzi, Christina Kaplun, Jonathan Ramos, Pegi Ramos, Robert Anthony Camacho, Iris Marie Camacho, Lizaida Ramos, Miguel Vargas, and Gabrielle Vargas. She is also survived by many beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward the love and strength she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luis Negroni; her mother, Maria Teresa Campiz; and her son, Bobby Camacho.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Winter Park, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792. A funeral service will follow there from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place later that day from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789. If you are attending the service, the family requests to please wear bright, floral colors in honor of Nelly.
