Sonia Roman

Sonia Roman, age 80, of Orlando, departed to the arms of our Heavenly Father at her home on October 11, 2025.

She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, to Aurea Ramos and Conrado Montalvo. She graduated from Cataño High School and would later move to New York with her mother and siblings. She studied cosmetology, nursing, and later social work. Working with children with special needs and gardening brought her much joy. Years later, she moved again, this time to Florida. She braved a long battle with Alzheimer’s but is now free in God’s loving embrace.

Sonia is survived by her daughter, Cheryl, and bonus daughter, Natalie; her siblings, Blanca, Grisel, Damarys, and William; and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sharon Solero officiating.

Visitation will precede the service on Wednesday, October 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
