With profound sadness and much love, we announce the passing of Steven Scott Moore, 72, of Orlando, Florida, on May 13, 2026.
Born on May 11, 1954, in Fort Walton Beach, Fl to Billie and Lonnie Moore, Steve lived life fully and unapologetically on his own terms. Raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, he developed an early passion for karate and martial arts that remained an important part of his life. Following high school, Steve attended the University of Florida, where he majored in statistics and minored in Russian.
After a career in both business and competitive karate, Steve followed his true passion and transitioned to music full-time, beginning a decades-long career performing throughout the Orlando entertainment circuit. Steve was a friend to all and a stranger to none, but he shared far more than music. Through his performances and relationships, he discovered the power music had to transform the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive and physical challenges. He dedicated himself to bringing comfort and connection to others, expanding his performances to assisted living communities and elder care facilities throughout the area.
Steve brought healing, joy, and hope to everyone whose life he touched, reminding others of music’s unique ability to connect, uplift, and inspire. His spirit, generosity, and love for people will continue to live on in all who knew him and were fortunate enough to call him a little brother, a loyal friend, and most lovingly, Uncle Steve.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Billie Moore, and his brother, Ray Moore.
Steve is survived by his sister, Tina Quigley, and her husband, Tim; their daughters, Billie Quigley, Jana Quigley Claxton, and Ava Quigley Griffith, and their families; his brother, Bob Moore, and his wife, Mary; their daughters, Lori and Debbie, and their families; and his niece, Loni Hernandez, and her family.
There will be a celebration of life honoring Steve on June 28, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at The Woman’s Club of Winter Park - 419 S Interlachan Ave, Winter Park, FL. Light refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steve’s memory to Music and Memory (https://musicandmemory.org/) or Central Florida Community Arts (https://cfarts.com/).
