Susan Elaine Lee

INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Susan Elaine Connell Lee, age 81, passed away on August 30, 2026. She was born on June 10, 1945, in Miami, FL, a daughter of the late Melzy P. Connell and the late Doris Elaine Hale Connell, and was the loving wife of the late Steven “Steve” Karl Lee.

Susan was a woman of profound warmth, vibrant energy, and unyielding devotion to those she loved. For Susan, family was the center of the universe, and her greatest joy came from spending time with the people who meant the most to her. Alongside Steve, her devoted partner in life, Susan raised their four cherished children in Longwood, Florida.

She balanced her thriving home life with a stellar professional career, becoming a top real estate agent in the Central Florida area. Known for her sharp mind, charismatic personality, and deep care for her clients, Susan helped countless families find their own places to call home. Upon retiring from real estate, Susan’s deeply rooted love for family guided her next chapter. She and Steve relocated to the Indian Land, South Carolina area to be near their children and grandchildren, ensuring she would never miss a milestone, a laugh, or a quiet moment together.

Susan lived life with an open heart and an open door. She loved to travel, eagerly exploring new places and collecting beautiful memories. She loved music and dancing and was always the life of a party. Closer to home, she loved to entertain, bringing friends and family together with her exceptional hospitality, warmth, and laughter. Her home was always a sanctuary of celebration and love. Susan’s legacy lives on in the tight-knit family she built, the lives she touched through her career, and the countless memories of gatherings filled with love and laughter.

She is survived by her four children, Jennifer Herlong (Dan), Beth Lee, Christopher Lee (Leighann), and Patrick Lee; ten adored grandchildren, Allison, Jewel, Malaina, Jackson, Ryan, Vivia, Brenner, Jamie, David, and Cory; two beloved great-grandchildren, Penelope and David; a brother, Richard Connell (Beth); and two sisters-in-law, Sherry Connell (John) and Dahlia Mach.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Karl Lee; her parents, Melzy and Doris Connell; and a brother, John Connell.

Mass of Christian Burial for Susan will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at All Souls Catholic Church of Sanford, FL. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Longwood, FL.

She will be deeply missed but forever celebrated.
