Valerie Dora Spence died at home with loved ones on February 22, 2026, after a two year battle with uterine cancer. She is survived by her two children, her daughter, Echo N. Goodner (Sean) of Oviedo, FL and her son, Tracer R. Spence of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by her four granddaughters-Madison, Grace, River and Saoirse of Oviedo, FL as well as many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and several in-laws. She also leaves behind two fur babies, Zoe and Sophie, that are being cared for by their human siblings. She was proceeded into death by her husband of 50 years, Frank James Spence; her parents, Joseph L. Kveragas and Janice M. (Stange) Kveragas and her brother, Joseph “Jay” Kveragas.Valerie was born on May 15, 1956 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She attended high school at Thornton Academy in Maine and met her future husband at an amusement park called Camden Park in West Virginia. She moved with her husband and two kids from Huntington, West Virginia to Canton, Michigan to Tallahassee, FL to finally land in the amusement theme park capital of the world, Orlando, FL.She retired in 2021 after working just shy of 30 years in the propane industry. Working her way from a receptionist position to being an office manager and service coordinator.Valerie enjoyed traveling with her husband to destinations ranging from Alaska to Thailand, cruising with friends and meeting up with the travel group known as the “Bears” to Mexico and Jamaica. She enjoyed seeing all the sights and trying out new excursions. She loved her daily coffee.Cremation Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home. Her ashes will be spread at sea with her husband’s ashes.In lieu of flowers, please donate to Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) - Orlando or your favorite animal shelter/rescue group in honor of Valerie’s love of animals, particularly cats.
