With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, uncle, in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather Ventura De Leon, who passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife Estebania and children: Rosa (Jose), Pedro, Wilfredo, Juan (Rosie), Nereida, Nilsa (Anibal) and by his nine (9) grandchildren and ten (10) great grandchildren.
Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, on July 14, 1933, Ventura moved to Chicago in the early 1950s. It is where he made his home and was known for his compassionate nature, giving spirit, and wisdom. He was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking husband, father, uncle, in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather, always putting others' needs ahead of his own. He was a great friend to many, always giving back to his community and always ready to help and offer advice. He was truly ahead of his time, always envisioning possibilities before others could. Ventura was a faithful member of the Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church.
His personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he met; his passing will be deeply missed by all who knew him and those who were honored and had the privilege of knowing him. Ventura's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, sharing stories of his life and instilling in them the importance of family values, faith, and love. His legacy of kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will live on inspiring generations to come.

Con corazones pesados, anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado esposo, padre, tío, suegro, abuelo, y bisabuelo Ventura De León, que falleció el 9 de diciembre a la edad de 91 años. Le sobreviven su esposa Estebania e hijos: Rosa (Jose), Pedro, Wilfredo, Juan (Rosie), Nereida, y Nilsa (Anibal) y sus nueve (9) nietos y diez (10) bisnietos.
Nacido en Patillas, Puerto Rico el 14 de julio de 1933, hizo su vivienda a Chicago al principio de la década de 1950. Es donde hizo su hogar y era conocido por su naturaleza compasiva, su espíritu generoso y su sabiduría. Era un esposo, padre, tío, suegro, abuelo y bisabuelo cariñoso, dedicado y trabajador, siempre anteponiendo las necesidades de los demás a las suyas propias. Era un gran amigo, siempre retribuyendo a su comunidad cada vez que tenía la oportunidad y siempre feliz echando una mano y dando consejos significativos. Era un hombre adelantado a su tiempo, siempre visualizando posibilidades antes de los demás. Ventura era un miembro fiel de la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Nazaret.
Su personalidad trajo calidez y alegría a todos los que conocía; Su fallecimiento será profundamente extrañado por todos los que conocieron y por aquellos que tuvieron el honor a tener el privilegio de conocerlo. La mayor alegría de Ventura era pasar tiempo calidad con su familia, especialmente sus nietos, compartir/ contar historias de su vida e inculcarles la importancia de valores familiares, la fe, y el amor. Su legado de su buen corazón, generosidad, y espíritu inolvidable perdurará inspirando a las generaciones venideras.
