Wade Abbott Elliby was born on October 3, 1957 and was called home to glory on July 22, 2025. Wade is preceded in death by his father, John Elliby and sister, Leesa Elliby. Wade leaves behind his loving mother, Phyllis Gilbert and step-father, Albert Gilbert; his Aunt Marcella Jacobs, brothers, Johnnie Elliby, Robert Elliby and Donald Elliby (Kimberly). He also had four half-brothers, Rocky Harvey, Theodore Elliby (Hilda), Alvin Elliby and Harry Elliby. Wade’s sisters, Denise Callow (Paul), Marcella Simms (Benny), Lynette Farrelly (James) and his half-sisters, Tareesa Elliby and Elizabeth Elliby. Wade also leaves behind his beloved cousins, Steven Johnson, Ricky Lee, and Lauren Jacobs (Renato). His nephews, Joseph White Jr., Rocky Coleman, Elijah Coleman, Theodore Elliby Jr., Harry Elliby Jr., Jamal Elliby, Gerald Elliby and Michael Bullock. Wade’s nieces, Alesha Gilbert (Coty), Shakeya White, Alexa Callow, Jaiya Callow, Tennille Coleman, Alisha Bullock, Kameisha Bullock, Leticia Bullock, Joy Elliby, Chalisa Elliby and Jalisa Elliby; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Wade received his education at the Longwood School District (Middle Island, New York). He loved music, especially the music of the 70’s. He loved drawing and sports. Wade also liked to reminisce about times past and talked about his cousin, Steven Johnson. Wade had a classic humor and always made jokes about the things we all did in the past. He could put a smile on the saddest person and that was his best attribute. When Wade was in his early twenties he battled and beat brain cancer for 40 plus years and was determined to live his best life until his final departure. Wade was a protector, a great son, nephew, brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will be forever loved and missed.
