William A. Derrick

William Arthur Derrick, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on May 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, he was the son of William Joseph Derrick and Margaret Savage Derrick Davies. William retired from the automotive industry after 25 years in aftermarket sales with Tenneco (Walker) and NAPA.

William was a generous man who showed his love for others through his woodworking, often creating personalized wood plaques for family and friends. He never met a stranger and was known for his kindness and welcoming spirit.

He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and cheering on the Orlando Solar Bears. He was also a lifelong fan of the Detroit Red Wings. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, sharing with them his love of hockey and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Derrick; his mother, Margaret Savage Derrick Davies; and his stepfather, Harold Davies.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Susan; his daughters, Christine (Luke) and Jennifer (Ben); his grandchildren, Bailey, Conner, and Spencer; his step-brother, Michael (Rosalind); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the family home.
