William Allen Shepherd

October 10, 1950 – May 7, 2025William Allen Shepherd, 74, of Central Florida, passed away on May 7, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on October 10, 1950, in Beverly, Massachusetts, he made Central Florida his home for most of his life, where he built a life filled with joy, laughter, and lasting memories.

Known to most as Bill, he had a lifelong passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the world through his lens. He was drawn to the ocean and found great happiness in visiting theme parks—especially Disney, which always held a special place in his heart. Bill also had a deep love of history and could often be found reading, researching, or sharing fascinating stories from the past.

Though he embraced Florida as home, Bill often reminisced about his early years in Massachusetts. He spoke fondly of his childhood there, the changing seasons, and the memories that shaped the man he became. Those stories were told with warmth, humor, and his signature knack for turning a simple memory into an unforgettable tale.

A natural conversationalist, Bill had the rare ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He could talk to a total stranger for hours, and by the end, they often felt like lifelong friends.

Bill was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments—whether big or small—and his eyes would light up whenever he spoke about them. His pride in his family was one of his most defining traits, and it was felt deeply by those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; his children Lisa, Stephen, Tanya, and Megan; and his grandchildren Meriwether, Madison, Jacob, Alex, Katelyn, Charlotte, Eliza, and Connor.

Bill’s kind heart, sense of wonder, love for storytelling, and fierce devotion to his family will be remembered always.
