With broken hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved, Yesmin Current, who left us on May 21, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved more fiercely than words can express.
Yesmin was born in Brazil and raised in Bolivia before immigrating to Princeton, West Virginia, at the age of five, and eventually settling in Orlando, Florida. She grew up knowing the value of family, hard work, and compassion. These values shaped the life she built with her husband of 42 years, Ray, and guided the way she raised her children, who were her greatest pride and joy. She lived a life defined by love, strength, and selflessness. Yesmin was a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, a beloved aunt, and a loyal friend.
To know Yesmin was to know love in its most powerful form—protective, unconditional, and unwavering. She gave her whole heart to the people she loved and was a safe place, a guiding light, a constant source of warmth and affection. She had the superpower of simply being kind to everyone, always seeing the best in them. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to love unconditionally, to give without expecting in return, and to live with humility and compassion. Even in her hardest moments, she put others first. Her strength was silent, her loyalty unmatched, her love endless.
Yesmin devoted her life to her family with tireless care and unwavering dedication. Whether it was in the small daily rituals or the big life moments, she was always there—steady, present, and full of love. Her wisdom shaped us, her love comforted us, and her presence filled our home with joy. She was the soul of our home, the glue that held us together, and the light that guided us through everything. Her love knew no limits, and her sacrifices—often quiet and unseen—were the backbone of our family's strength.
As a mom, she was everything—our home, our safe place, our fiercest protector, and our constant love. She poured herself into raising her children, not just with care but with immense pride and boundless support. She made birthdays and holidays feel like magic, never missed a sports game or school event, and was passionately involved in every aspect of our lives. She celebrated our highs, carried us through our lows, and taught us how to love simply by the way she lived.
As a grandmother, she was magical. The arrival of her granddaughter Kennedy lit up her world, and her heart grew in ways she never thought possible. It was one of her greatest joys, and she embraced it with all the love in her soul. She cherished every laugh, every cuddle, every milestone.
As a friend, she was a loyal presence, always ready to listen, to help, to simply be there.
Yesmin had a passion for music and cooking. She loved all music—from classic country and latin to hip-hop and oldies. Her passion for cooking was inspired by her late mother. She loved recreating her mom’s recipes and experimenting with new ones of her own. No one ever went hungry in her home—she made sure of that. For Sunday dinners, she often cooked enough to feed a football team, pouring love into every dish she made.
Yesmin was one of the hardest workers, and through grit and perseverance, she became a Systems Engineer. She loved her work, but never at the expense of her children. She worked overnight shifts and double shifts, sacrificing countless hours of sleep just to be present for her family during the day and to ensure she could provide her children with everything they ever wanted.
Though the world feels empty without her, we take comfort in knowing her love remains—in every corner of our hearts, in the lives she shaped, in the traditions she made special, and in the way we choose to live moving forward.
Yesmin is preceded in death by her father, Wahib; her mother, Olga; and her sister, Samira. She is survived by her husband, Ray; her beloved children, Michael, Ashley, Chris, and Cory; her daughter-in-law, Courtney; her adored grandchild, Kennedy; her siblings, Linda, Jeff, and Hafiz; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and devotion that will echo for generations—carried forward in every act of love and every memory of her beautiful heart.
Yesmin, your love made all of us who we are. You are the best of us. You are so deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on July 19, 2025, at 3 PM at Belle Isle Community Church, 731 Fairlane Ave, Orlando, FL 32809, where we will gather to honor and remember the extraordinary woman we were so blessed to love—and be loved by.
