Viola E. Skeete, age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Mrs. Skeete was the first of six children born to the late Rosetta and Sydney Husband on July 19, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY. On August 22, 1942 she married Leon Skeete, who preceded her in August 1986. She retired twice from the New York City Board of Education in 1965 and 1981. Mrs. Skeete is survived by her children Cheryl Owens-Cobblah, Walter Skeete, son-in-law, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 12:00 Noon, at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, 4606 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20011.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory, to:

* Take 12
* United Negro College Fund
* Veteran's of Foreign Wars
