Richard (Dick) William Veltre, 85, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on January 3, 2021.

Dick was born on February 23, 1935 to John and Genevieve Veltre in Rochester, NY. After graduating from Jefferson HS in 1953, he went on to study at Heidelberg University in Ohio. He also served in the US Army.

He was a baker at his family’s Veltre and Sons Bakery.

In 1960, he met the love of his life, Silvia Fappiano in Italy. They wed in September at the Cathedral in Pompeii. They would go on to have two children, John and Genevieve.

After his retirement from Eastman Kodak, they moved to Orlando, Florida in 1995. Dick was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Italian American Social Club where he and Silvia loved to dance.

Dick was predeceased by his parents John and Genevieve and his two brothers Robert and John. He is survived by his wife Silvia, his son John (Andrea), his daughter Genevieve (Anthony) Fable, his grandchildren Jeremiah Veltre, Gabrielle Veltre, Giovanna (Colin) Veltre-Egan, Russell Redmond (Jenny), Ryann Redmond, Nicholas Amante, Alessandra Fable, Giancarlo Fable, Elias Fable, and Anthony Fable, great granddaughter Reese Redmond, brother Angelo (Sonny) Veltre, sister Linda Concordia (Dick), and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on January 23rd at 1:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Orlando, followed by a private Interment at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
