Ercille Alexander "Loo" Looby 93, Died at his home in Orlando Florida on Thursday January 13th, 2022.

Loo, as friends and family lovingly called him lived a full rich life. At the age of 17 he lost his parents within 48 hours of each other; he was propelled into adulthood, providing love and guidance to his two younger sisters Myrle and Bernice. It was at that time he met his earthly North Star, his wife Ernie Payne Looby. Loo would be the first to tell you that the man he became was authored, scripted, and designed and managed by his wife. She was the force behind all his accomplishments and the “influencer” in his everlasting relationship with the Lord.

Loo Looby accomplished much during his 93 years on this earth. He was the face of the Airline Industry in the Caribbean from his 28 years with Pan American Airlines to his management of LIAT Antigua, his remarkable leadership of Airport Aviation Services in St. Martin to his Senior Management Position with San Jun Aviation Services. He was loved, admired, and revered by many, which was evidenced by the warm and embracing greetings he would receive as he walked throughout the airports. Everyone called him” sir” He was acknowledged as a man of authority yet approachable and much appreciated.

This stella, earthly vessel of a man was the force within his family. He was a student at the Grammar School in Antigua but was self-taught. He was brilliant. He attended many professional development and sales courses. He was well traveled and well read. Loo read at least one book every week form many years. In 2000 He committed to reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelations every year. He started on January 1st with Genesis 1 and ended with Revelations 22:21 on December 31st. This he did until 2020 when his retention was affected. It however did not hinder his desire to read, especially if the book, magazine, article etc. was in any way related to President Barack Obama. His Love for the word and his reading of the word was the only thing that riveled his passion for politics.

Through it all- His professional advancements, his politics, his standards of living etc. nothing but nothing, was more essential to this man’s being - than his children. The favor of God on his life was clearly displayed in how he LOVED his children. He was known for saying. I have God, I need no best friends because my children are my very best friends… and He was theirs!!!!

He will rest in peace knowing that his work is done. He fought the good fight, and the battel was won!

He is survived by his Children; R. St. Claire Samon, June Looby Moore, Ercille Alec Looby Jr., Sonia Alexis Looby, Dennis AV Gardiner, Patsy Alexis Looby
Barbara Alexis Looby-Carbonara, Rudy Wilson, SherryAnn Looby Allen, and Kenny Looby
