He was born on October 10, 1946 in Norfolk, VA, son of the late Phillip J. and Alice Marie (Morhan) Battaglia. On May 15, 1971, he married the former Pamela Jones.
Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pamela Battaglia of Orlando; his two sons, Nathan Battaglia and his wife, Yana of Orlando, and Michael Battaglia and his fiancé, Jerusha, of Orlando; one grandchild, Hiroki Okuno; two brothers, Mark Battaglia and his wife, Joanne, of Orlando, and Austin Battaglia of Chattanooga, TN; and a sister, Mary Battaglia of Plano, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Phillip Battaglia, Jr., and a sister, Nina Battaglia.
Dan was employed by AT&T as a technician for 44 years. He had been retired for the past 14 years. Dan was mechanically inclined; he liked to work on cars in his younger years. He was also a big baseball fan. He collected coins, enjoyed tending to his plants, and working outdoors in the sunshine. Dan was a man of strong faith. In 1976, he gave his life to the Lord and became a servant of Christ. He was honest and hardworking. His priorities were God and family. He loved helping people and always liked to talk and tell stories from his youth. He will be greatly missed by both his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando with Pastor Earl Ryan officiating.
Visitation will precede the service from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 20th at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703
